Off-the-shelf software is the right choice far more often than vendors of bespoke development like to admit. It is cheaper, faster and already tested. We recommend it whenever it fits. Bespoke development earns its cost in a narrower set of cases: when your process genuinely differs from the market, when licence costs scale badly with your user count, or when the integration between several systems is itself the product.

It depends on the project. A large application with many moving parts benefits from a framework such as Laravel. A focused tool, or one that has to deploy onto restrictive shared hosting, is often better as a lean custom build. We make the recommendation during discovery and explain the trade-off.

You do, on completion of the engagement, including the repository and full history. We do not retain licensing over work built for you.
