When a desktop application is the right call.

We recommend a web application by default, because it deploys instantly, updates centrally and runs everywhere. A desktop application earns its extra cost in specific circumstances: the software must keep working without a network; it must talk to hardware such as scanners, scales, label printers or industrial equipment; it processes files large enough that uploading them is impractical; or it runs inside an isolated network for security reasons.

If your requirement is genuinely one of those, we will build it. If it is not, we will tell you that a web application would cost less and serve you better, even though it is the smaller piece of work.
